HowardMethod℠, or Myofascial Bio Rejuvenation (MBR), utilizes highly effective decompression techniques, often delivering instant and long-lasting relief from pain and restriction. This innovative approach reduces external puffiness and inflammation and enhances energy, flexibility, and strength, irrespective of age, health, or fitness level.
Unlike traditional massage techniques that primarily involve kneading and pressing into the tissue and muscles, HowardMethod℠ relies on dynamic pulling movements. These movements aim to remove stagnation and restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body. Moreover, the method℠ can be utilized alone or with other massage modalities.
One of the critical advantages of HowardMethod℠ lies in its direct interaction with the lymphatic system, resulting in numerous benefits including decreased inflammation, improved circulation, enhanced energy levels and mood, promotion of healthier cells and tissues, faster metabolism, and strengthened immunity.

One of the most in-demand massage therapists and educators in New York City, Howard continually seeks cutting-edge techniques and insights within massage therapy to provide lasting anatomical change. Through this relentless pursuit, Howard developed Myofascial Bio Rejuvenation (MBR), also known as HowardMethod℠. This modality pulls the fascia and muscle away from the bone (vs. pushing into it) to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and digest"). After encouragement from his students and clients — including New York's top cycling instructors, professional athletes and dancers, celebrities, and executives — Howard decided to shift his primary focus to teaching HowardMethod℠ to reach and help as many people as possible.
An approved provider of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) since 2008 and a former staff instructor at the Swedish Institute, Howard now teaches private and public workshops at massage schools nationwide.
As a client of Howard's for over 20 years, Ruth's steadfast belief in the healing ability of MBR led her to partner with Howard in sharing HowardMethod℠ with the world.
A serial entrepreneur and tenured executive who held roles at Red Hat, McKinsey & Company, Sonenshine Partners, Digitas Health, and Bloomberg, Ruth has a wealth of financial, operational, and marketing experience.
With over three decades of experience in Western, Shiatsu, medical, and sports massage, Tom has a deep understanding of the human body; however, it was not until he learned and employed HowardMethod℠ that his private practice, Zen Massage Center, was voted Best Massage in Bergen County (2023). After witnessing how MBR dramatically improved the health of his clients and his business, Tom wanted to share his learnings and teach alongside Howard.
Tom graduated with honors from the Helma Institute of Massage Therapy and the Ohashi Institute and has been an Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) member since 1999.
Former dancer/choreographer and now owner of The Movement Habit, Amanda has over 15 years of experience in the field of massage, several of which were spent working alongside a team of physical therapists and chiropractors. Amanda's background gives her a particular sensitivity to the rigors and delicacy required to heal; after seeing the unique efficacy of MBR, she was eager to assist Howard in his workshops.
Certified in Neurokinetic Therapy (Level 1), Amanda graduated from The Swedish Institute and St. Olaf College.
